Data Analytic

Start Date: January 2026
Instruction Model: 100% virtual with optional in-person study groups and academic support

You’ll develop the analytical mindset and technical expertise you need to transform complex data into clear insights across a full spectrum of industries — and to drive informed decisions that make a measurable impact wherever you work.

Overview:

Data Analytics examines how information is collected, interpreted, and applied to influence decisions across every sector of society. At INNOVA, we explore the many ways data can be used, and sometimes misused, to shape outcomes in business, healthcare, government, technology, and nearly every field where evidence and strategy intersect. One day in class, your professor might present a dataset on consumer behavior, healthcare outcomes, or financial markets. You and your classmates analyze, visualize, and interpret the data from multiple perspectives, looking at its reliability, what the numbers reveal (and what they may obscure), and the implications of those findings. Then you use industry-standard tools to create your own models, dashboards, or recommendations in response.

Career Opportunities:

Our graduates pursue careers and internships across a wide range of fields — business intelligence, finance, healthcare, government, consulting, information technology, supply chain, and education. Many work as data analysts, business analysts, or research specialists, while others join fast-growing industries such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and digital transformation. We’ve also seen graduates launch their own startups and others continue on to advanced studies in data science, computer science, public health, economics, and business administration.

Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the Data Analytics Postgraduate Certificate Program will leave with the knowledge, tools, and global perspective to apply data-driven decision making across industries. Participants will learn to analyze and interpret complex datasets using industry-standard tools to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable insights. They will strengthen their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, applying them to real-world challenges in business, healthcare, government, and technology. The program emphasizes the development of clear and persuasive data visualizations and reports, ensuring graduates can communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Students will also learn to evaluate data quality and reliability, considering ethical implications to ensure responsible use of information. By designing and implementing analytic models, participants will be prepared to support innovation, operational efficiency, and evidence-based decision making. With a focus on integrating global intelligence into local contexts, graduates will be equipped to create solutions that are relevant and impactful within African and international markets, while also learning to collaborate across teams and disciplines to drive strategic initiatives and organizational growth.
